Helping an adoptee and need second pair of eyes

Hello,

I have been helping an adoptee but this case needs a better-qualified set of eyes. I became involved with the case because he is the boyfriend of one of my niece's cousins. (My niece's mother was adopted and the cousin was also adopted - I was able to find parental results for both but by comparison, those were easy because I knew details for one parent.) The adoptee is on Ancestry and we just transferred data to FTDNA and MyHeritage. I have clustered the Ancestry results, built quick and dirty trees for each of the four clusters and run two of the clusters through WATO on DNA Painter. I am a bit in over my head on this one and the adoptee is going to need help. Does this pique anyone's interest or can you tell me what the adoptee needs to do to receive help here? Any replies will be appreciated.

Hello Roberta,

It sounds like you've made a lot of progress and are already quite savvy with DNA tools. If you need a second set of eyes for something tricky, fill out an application to have someone on the adoption angels team assist you. We have quite a few people in this group that are exceptional with DNA. Add as much info/details as you already know in the application notes!

Thanks and Good Luck,

Hello Shanna,

Thank you for your reply. I received a private message yesterday from someone who read my message. He advised me to do try that so I did fill out the form and hopefully we will hear from someone. I basically just filled the response form with the same message I posted here and the adoptee's birth date and place of birth. Your message confirms that may have been a good first step. I have made enough progress that I hope it will make it easier for someone else to not have to start from scratch to help the adoptee. I have been learning but do not have the experience to sort this one out on my own. I can't seem to see the forest for the trees.
