Advice before editing this pre-1700 Evans profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of David Evans. This is what I can add:

  • death date
  • children

These are the sources I am using:

  • vital records
  • will

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Hi Kim, you need to show us the sources you wish to use so they can be evaluated. Please edit this question and add them, thanks.
As usual with these posts, I think the edits are already done.  The reason these "questions" keep happening post the event is that banner that pops up telling you to coordinate with a project/ask the community.  So people, having already made the edits, ask the question.
Just so, Melanie.
Could we ask tech that where the banner pops up in the sequence of events be changed?
That would be so helpful!
At least least when people do post it here, even after making the changes,  it draws attention to the profile.

Difficult one really since lots of us make changes to pre 1700 profiles and because of familiarity, membership of the project etc don't 'ask the community'. If we did, the forum would be overun with these posts.

I think it's really important tthat 'immigrant' profiles like this one are looked at, even if most arrive on the forum, post hoc.  If an error is made as to the birthplace, it can  eventually end up with a completely spurious branch. It's easy to  make errors when dealing with parts of the world where we  have less familiarity with the records.
