Her mother was Rachel Elizabeth van Rooyen. I Have Rachel's Father's DN . Petrus van Rooyen m to Jacomina Christina Vogel. Since there are a few profiles on Wikitree for Petrus "Cornelis" van rooyen, I merely want to confirm whether the DN I have is correct. Petrus van Rooyen d1848 b. 1779

HI Amour

Sorry but the data does not add up.

Working with the little info given I think  we have a problem?

According to SAG: the child of Nicolaas Gerhardus Swart and Rachel Elizabeth van Rooyen (her father b10c9)  is Luytje Margaretha Johanna Swart  b2c4d1e3f4g5 with a birth date of 27 November 1841

But looking at the marriage record on her profile  she was 15 in 1867 That will give a estimated birthdate of 1852

Maybe looking for a baptismal in the years 1851-1852 or the marriage affidavit  could solve the problem ?

Your thoughts ...

Thank you very much Ronel. As Always you are all super stars. Thanks for your help. David Isak and LMJ (Swart) are my brick wall.

Let me know if you need info on links to find the baptismal records.

If I find something more I will PM you.

Thank you very much. and yes please, I would appreciate the links to the baptisms. I'm down to my last functioning brain cell! If LMJ Swart was b1852, which will be correct, then she was months old when her father escaped his marriage with Rachel. FS profiile shows That Rachel Elizabeth v Rooyen d Albany d.Albany,1852. Nou hoe nou? David Isak d.2/4/1979. There must have been some info of death. I tried searching National Archives but obviously did it wrong. Ag tog! Again many thanks.

The most probable parish will be Somerset East

1846-1851Book 06, Baptisms Memberships (seq no 05/4)

1851-1856Book 11, Baptisms Memberships (seq no 08/2)

Happy hunting :-)

I hope I have the problem of the marriage certificate dates, solved. I looked at the MC very carefully. I think the date 1860 is the correct date. Ther flourish of the date reads as a 7 but should be 1860. I have seen that most women of them days, had themselves confirmed a month or 2 before they were married. LMJ Swart was confirmed in 1860, at 18 years of age.
