If you know a DNA testee who has died and has a GEDmatch ID then please consider adding them to WikiTree along with their ancestry and GEDmatch ID.

If a DNA testee has tested their Y-DNA (or mtDNA) and their results are in a public DNA project (e.g.  https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Roberts?iframe=yresults ) or (https://gap.familytreedna.com/mtdna-results-classic.aspx ) then please consider adding their Y-DNA or mtDNA to mitoYDNA.org and adding them to WikiTree along with their ancestry and mitoYDNA ID.

I’m willing to help with the above.  Thank you.

Thank you, Peter! That would be very valuable.
I have several deceased who did DNA tests for me and are public - exactly how do I add their test and gedmatch #, when I an on their profile and try to ADD, it always assigned it to me instead of them, what am I doing wrong?
If you manage the profile of the person who tested, from the drop down list on the test taker's profile headed with his/her Wiki ID, select "DNA" and on the next page choose the tab for "DNA Tests".  On that page you should be able to enter the DNA test information.

Yes, I do - my last surviving aunt. I am waiting about another two weeks to have her profile go public. Meanwhile, I am adding sources and biography. She was 102+ and did a DNA test for me several years ago which has been quite helpful.

Yes, my son was tested with Ancestry a few months before he died.  I have just received access to his DNA profile. How do I add him to Wiki Tree?  He is not in GEDmatch.

Also, my brother was tested with Family Search DNA, Y-DNA and I manage his profile, he is still living, and is in the LaFond DNA project, but he isn't in GEDmatch.  I do not know if his project is public or not.  How do I find out and how to I add it to Wiki-Tree?

Condolences on the death of your son. If you haven't already, add your son to your profile and add his death date. Then, on his profile page go to top of the page where you will see the Add button. Click on that and the first item is DNA. Follow the instructions to add his test information - the company he tested with, a number if applicable and the kin of test. You can also upload his test information to Ged Match since you manage his DNA account. Then you can add his GedMatch number to his DNA information here on WikiTree.

You cannot add your brother's information as he is still living. You could help him join WikiTree and he can add his DNA info and then make you manager of his profile.

I hope this helps; if you encounter any problems come back here and ask.

Here are instructions to add AncestryDNA results to GEDmatch:

http://www.irelanddavis.com/dna/gedmatch/default.aspx

Then as Virginia described, add his GEDmatch ID to his DNA Tests page in WikiTree.

Hello Sharon,

Y-DNA results should be added to mitoYDNA.org.  Then his mitoYDNA ID should be added to his DNA Tests page in WikiTree.  Step by step instructions are at

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Instructions_to_Upload_Family_Tree_DNA_Y-DNA_Test_Information_to_mitoYDNA.org

Thank you so much Virginia, I will try that.  Sharon
Peter, thank you for your help with my son's DNA.  It is very much appreciated.

My father-in-law died last Christmas. I have added his ancestry-ID and his GEDmatch-ID.

Maybe that helps a little bit to find the unknown maternal grandfather of my wifes mother, because my father-in-law and my mother-in-law were cousins.
