I hope this helps! Here is what I found from 9 family trees on Ancestry.ca. The only major sources to any of this, I listed as a census record and a book called "The Handy Book of American Authors" however every tree was extremely similar in information aside from the children (some had them, some didn't). All dates matched and all had the same picture as you as well as knowledge of his " The Common Sense" article ...

Thomas Paine born 29 Jan 1737 in Thetford, Norfolk, England, died 8 Jun 1809 in New Rochelle, Westchester, New York, USA.

Son of Joseph Paine 1722 England -1751 England and Frances Cocke 1722-1790 married Jun 1734

Brother to Elizabeth Paine born 29 Aug 1738 Thetford, Norfolk, England - death ?

Half Brother to Daniel Paine (son of Joseph) born abt 1717-?

Husband to Mary Lambert born 1740 - death 1760 Margate, Kent, England;  married Sep 1759 Sandwich, Kent, England

More information is needed.  Tom Paine's birth, death, marriage, residence locations are helpful.  Otherwise, we don't know if our anscestor is the one you seek.  If you can give us the decade your researching that can narrow things down.  You are more likely to get responces.
