Orphaned profiles that aren't actually orphaned

Question

On my account, when I go to the "Special:Adoptions" page for orphaned profiles, a large number of profiles that are NOT orphaned show up. For instance, on that sorting, Bridgeman-16 showed up for me as an orphaned profile, but is actually managed by Robertson-18495. Is there a reason that this happens, or is it a bug? I found this out when I tried to adopt a few, and they gave me an error "<Name> is not an orphaned profile."

hmmm - I just looked at it too, and profiles that i manage are on the orphan list.  

Maybe add a sysop tag or tech tag to your question, so it gets seen by the wonderful WikiTreers that make all the behind-the-scenes stuff work

Thanks Shirlea, but I don't think that's the answer. That one is talking about "highlighted profiles", but even for profiles that DON'T have a profile manager, they still aren't highlighted. I haven't seen any profiles that are highlighted, so I think that description is for a different feature (something to do with hovering over an ID) that seems to have been removed/changed. An example: when I search the orphan profiles page in reverse order, there's a woman Mary (Zyllka) Stafin (Zyllka-1) that shows up. She indeed doesn't have a profile manager, but she isn't highlighted on the list either.

This bug is actually something we've been working on the past couple of weeks. It should be fixed pretty soon.
