I wanted to share this family photo of Elizabeth Sears Crosby's tombstone with the community. Location: Old Burying Ground, Brewster, Barnstable, Mass. Used with permission of Caryn from FindAGrave. (1697-1729) nearly 300 years old- a very early slate stone with "light bulb" winged-skull (skull =death is certain - but wings=salvation is possible) carved possibly by the Fosters of Dorchester or maybe by Savery? Round shoulders with decorative motif on both sides and bottom- almost identical to the stone of Anna Russell (1706-1729/30) in the Lothrop Hill Burying Ground over in West Barnstable.
