I have a few questions about uploading raw DNA data files.
1. I manage both my own and my brother's DNA profile on Ancestry.com. Would it be helpful for me to upload both my own and my brother's raw DNA data file or do I just need to upload my own?
2. As I was preparing to upload my raw DNA data file, it appears that it may already be uploaded. Can you check to see if it has been uploaded correctly or if it still needs to be uploaded? ... And somehow get back to me on that please.
3. Is there ever any reason to delete an earlier version of my raw DNA data file and upload a more recent version of the same file? I can not think of a good reason to do that, but others have claimed to have done that. But why? ... I am wonndering. Could something have changed?
4. I have found a couple of profiles on WikiTree.com (for my direct ancestors) that say no DNA match has uploaded DNA data matching that person and to contact someone (?) on the site - not sure who - if I am a match. Once my raw DNA data file has been uploaded, will a connection be made with my direct ancestor profiles on this site automatically or is there something I will need to do manually to make that connetion?
I have found most of my direct ancestors all the way back to and including my 5th great-grandparents; and some farther back than that. I am totally willing to share, of course, but I am quite a novice when it comes to sharing my raw DNA data file on other sites.
