Hi Arthur,

I looked for information about Valentine Gibson and found a few, but not one born in Virginia close to 1800.  Do you have any more information that might identify Valentine?  As I'm searching, is there a particular thing you are looking for such as his spouse or parents?  I'd like to help if you have more to go on.

This from: http://genforum.genealogy.com/gibson/messages/8473.html

William K. Gibson was married in Scott Co., Va., to Polly Gilliam [daughter of William and Nancy Ferguson Gilliam ] Census records put his birth in NC-Tenn-or Va.

Candidates for his father, if he was in Scott County are; Ezekiel, Fisher, George, John and M. George. HIs first son however was named James with his second son William.--Third son was Ezekiel.

George Washington Gibson appears in Morgan County around the time William does. William K. Gibson appears in Morgan County around the time of death of a Henry Gibson in Morgan County, age 80, a widow. Father was Thomas...he was "yellow" on Sept 29 1857.

Kindrick, Burell, Squire, Tyre, Ira and Ezekiel Gibson are found on early Morgan County tax list...Kindrick, Burell and Squire are found in Hawkins Co., Tenn records.

James and Ruth Gibson are probably the ancestors of these early Scott Co., Va Gibsons. James and Ruth are listed in the Stoney Creek Church Records.
