Welcome.  The spelling your family uses generally links it to the Angell Husted side of the Husted family and not the Robert Husted Jr. side.  I found it useful to trace from both the top going down (Robert, Angell, Angell Jr., etc.) and the bottom going up (me, my dad, my grandfather, my great grandfather, etc.).  I'm a GenX person and am of the 13th generation of Husteds in North America.  So, I knew as far back as my great grandfather (4 generations) and as far down from Robert as Angell (2 more generations), and that reduced the number of generations that I needed to research from 13 down to 7...not quite in half.  That's one way to start the journey.  Let me know if I can be of help.  Welcome cousin!
I have a packet of Husted that I have been working from. It starts with John Huested aka Eustice 1510 and follows down the line to me. The spelling change starts with Angell II and changes again with Daniel Moser Huested? I have 2 name variations, 2 wives, 2 sets of children and 2 death dates-one born in Pittstown, Rensselaer NY/Bushong, Kansas and the other New York City/just a date. Different sources for each on family search tree. Any clarification, please and thank you.

Welcome to WikiTree! As you are a Guest with limited things you can do, please go to either your Profile or Navigation page and click on the Upgrade button (completely free) and follow the instructions to complete your membership. Once you have done that, a Greeter will post a message to your profile with a very useful link on how to use the site. Then, you can begin to add your ancestors and maybe find others who are also descendants of some of your ancestors.

Good luck with your research and be sure to ask when you  have questions as there are a lot of people here who are willing to help.

Hello, welcome Sego!

I found sources for Edward's dad Daniel and created a profile for him; he's open and can be adopted by you.

According to an unsourced ancestry tree, Daniel was a grandson of Abraham Husted Sr (1760-1848) by his son William born 4 Mar 1803 and Waiti Taft born 1810.

On the 1855 census, the enumerator has Daniel born in "WaRenseller" [sic] County.

In 1855 and 1860 there are a William and Waity Husted in Pittstown, Rensselaer.

Does all this match what you know so far?  The location (Rensselaer County) lines up, but we would need sources tying this Daniel to William and William to Abraham (possibly wills?)
