Advice before editing this pre-1700 England profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of John England. This is what I can add:

  • Christening date
  • Burial date

These are the sources I am using:

  • freeReg

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Just try to put it in in-line citations if you have the time.

Hi David, my main suggestion would be to make sure you include the citation so that you and others can easily verify the information. FreeReg makes this easy; simply click "Generate Citation" on the relevant record, then "Wikitree".

Here is the FreeReg citation for the baptism, for example:

Shepton Beauchamp : St Michael : Register of unspecified type : "Parish Register" database, FreeREG (https://www.freereg.org.uk/search_records/581832efe93790eca3a61afe : viewed 6 Dec 2020) baptism John England * Oct 1680

If you think you will be doing quite a lot of work on English profiles, you might also consider joining the England Project

David, I added the above source citation to the profile so you can see where it should go.
