I met Chuck Yeager a couple of times. We shared a common workplace, Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA. He was, of course, one of my aviation heroes. But there were many not listed here. Col James Doolittle was a particularly remarkable aviator for me because of his WWII career but he was also the Shell Oil company pilot and the only man to fly a plane with my grandmother aboard. Among so many, both stand tall.
