Roger Nicks married Elizabeth Milton?

Roger Nicks's marriage to Elizabeth Milton is based on a record in Crediton, showing that he was living in Pinhoe at the time. However - he was born in Ide, which is just far enough away from Pinhoe that I'm a bit suspicious of whether it's necessarily the same person.

The fact that the family moved around quite a bit after the marriage and eventually settled in Alphington (the next parish along from Ide) makes me think it's pretty plausible, but I'm not convinced it's actually proven from these records, and I haven't been able to find anything else that would prove it; I've looked at parish registers, probate records, and newspapers and found nothing useful.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what else to look at that might prove or disprove this connection please?
