Cemeteries in Pike County Kentucky

+5 votes
I have a lot of relatives buried in Pike County, Kentucky. A few of them are listed as buried in "Anderson Cemetery" in "Pike County." When I searched on Find-a-Grave, I discovered that there might be more than one Anderson Cemetery in Pike County.

What's a good way to approach this? Since a lot of these are in the 1800s, I wonder if they're all family cemeteries on someone's property, but we're not related to the Andersons as far as I know.

I will have to look at the county cemeteries to see what's going on. I see three that have only the name Anderson Cemetery and no town/municipality. Neither of them have map coordinates added on Find a Grave. All we can do is call one No. 1 and the other No. 2, then link to the Find a Grave ID of that cemetery. There are two Anderson Family Cemeteries, but they seem to be associated with different communities, so that will help with those.

Thank you so much for looking. I did find one here, but I can't tell if this is the cemetery I'm looking for.

Anderson Cemetery, Pike County, Kentucky
Latitude:     37.4063796997
Longitude:     -82.3619384766
GNIS ID:     2337484
Through a quick search, FindAGrave appears to have 16 cemeteries with the name "Anderson" (in some form) in Pike County. Some are located in small towns, others are multi-family plots typically named after the head of family male burials.

This might be much harder to untangle than usual due to the widespread occurrence of similarly named cemeteries, so any extra information that can be provided would be of great help.

Hi MM,

While I don't have an answer for you about Kentucky cemeteries, I just wanted to let you know that we're related, with common ancestors of Thomas Jefferson Sanders and his wife, Elizabeth (McBrayer) Sanders

Let me know if there's anything I can help with.
