I'm not fluent so you should wait for a complete translation but basically it says:

In Sambrerete, 10:30 am on 29 Nov 1896...Bartolo Escandon, 38, married...stated on the 25th day at 2 am a girl was born named Cesilia Escandon, his legitimate daughter with Eutimia Tavala, 26 years old.  Paternal grandparents are Tomas Escandon, deceased, and Claudia Escandon.  Maternal grandparents are  Andres Tavala and Maria Natividad Serrana, deceased...

Thanks so much!

Great job, Marcie !!    yes

Just three minor fixes:

Mother's age: 36.

Mother's maiden name: Zavala (spelled "Savala" in her father's name)

Both maternal grandparents were deceased.

Thanks, Rubén!

You are welcome, Azure!   smiley

I could have sworn the "S" looked like a "T" used somewhere else in the record.  It's not a "New Mexico" surname so I wasn't sure.  But I hide my face in shame at missing the mother's age...

Thanks Rubén!

eta:  so because "difuntas" is plural, that tells you that it is both maternal grandparents?
You are right, Marcie.

The word "difuntos" is plural, saying both maternal grandparents were deceased.

(Sometimes, it's a bit hard to decipher handwriting. The word is "difuntos", compare with the word "Maternos" that is just above the word "difuntos")
