Getting notifications in family activity feed for people not on my watchlist

Question

I've been getting all the activity data for a Mary Elizabeth (Venoit) Legge (though her actual surname at birth per Wikitree is Vienot) - despite to my knowledge never having edited the page, not being a trusted member, nor having the individual on my watchlist. In addition, I have been receiving notifications for adoptions that don't seem to exist:

Also, when I checked yesterday, I saw some notifications that said somebody had edited the page. For some reason, those seem to have disappeared from my activity feed, but it's still strange because I just checked and it says the last edit for the page was in 2017.

Your profile is set to privacy red, so we cannot see your profile. But you might be following the tags venoit or legge?

The notification of edits in the past happens when something else on the page changes which is not recorded in the change list.

So I'm fairly certain this is a bug, somehow related to the bug going on at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Adoptions, because Mary is listed on the first page.

I have no idea why you in particular are receiving notifications for Mary, though. Hopefully, the upcoming fix for Special:Adoptions will fix whatever weirdness that is going on here.

Are you following the tags Venoit or Legge?  Then you will get activity on your feed for *anybody* called Venoit or Legge.  You don't have to manage them or be on their Trusted Lists.  You will get them.

If I follow the surname Haywood, I will get all Haywoods anywhere in the world even if I have never edited their pages.

No, I'm not even familiar with either surname. What's even stranger is that the alleged "edits" do not exist on the actual page itself - those pages haven't been adopted by anyone new or edited in the last 3 years.
