Disconnected Ancestor Link

Question

In the Remarkable Aviator Link of Capt. Albert Ball, there is a break in the connection between descendant #7 Samuel Alvey and #8 Mary Alvey (his wife-supposedly) but when I try to see the connection between these two people, there is NO connection - Mary is not Samuel's wife under Samuel's WikiTree page. So the only way to correct this missing link is to redo the descentants using the WikiTree+ site. This has happened more than once but as long as the WikiTree+ site is still available, I will be able to trace my ancestry. Thanks and have a great holiday season.

Mary was removed as Samuel's spouse on 19 December, but no explanation was given.  Look at the Changes tab to see who did it, and perhaps send her a Private Message to ask why.

There is actually a comment on Mary's profile saying why she was removed - "removed Samuel Alvey as her husband, as he is 96 years younger than she is". It also looks like Mary was probably born in Maryland but Samuel was born and died in England.

So why was this ancestor included in the Featured grouping if there was a break/inconsistency in WikiTree??

Was she included?  Neither Samuel nor Mary can have been descendants of Albert, since he was killed as a young, unmarried man with no children.

I think there may be a misunderstanding regards the connection finder.  It doesn't go by direct line of descent, but by relationships that include spouses as well as blood.  Any pathway between featured profiles and the rest of us will follow those relationships, switching between married couples and siblings, or parents, or offspring.  My own pathway to Albert Ball does NOT include any Alvey names.

Yes, I know how the connection finder works. I am talking about the listings sent out weekly showing 'groups' of ancestors related to me.  These errors have continually happened IN THESE INDIVIDUAL people in these groups. Thanks.

If you read my original statement, the missing/incorret connection is not with John, it was 'descendant #7 Samuel Alvey and #8 Mary Alvey (his wife)' about the middle of the line of ancestors. Thanks.

Like I said before, this missing/incorrect connection in the original showing sent out last week Samuel and Mary are in about the middle of the ancestors listed. She is listed as his wife! Maybe not now as gatekeeper has recently edited her source. Thanks
