How do I properly cite archive.org?

I have a short branch that was in the Church of the Brethren. I have found obituaries and other information reading many of back issues of the monthly magazine on archive . org. I have just added the link at this time, but would like to properly source them.

I linked one of the profiles that has an obituary.

Thanks for any help

No I had not, I will bookmark it now.  Thank you
Thanks so much for the help

I'm not familiar with this source, but it appears to have been in publication for over 150 years. Most of these are available online for free. I copied most of the links here:

Much more should be done to organize the links, but this is a start.

Thank you

Something like this:

Obituary of David Bowersox, published in ''The Gospel Messenger'' on 27 June 1896. Available online at Archive.org, [https://archive.org/details/gospelmessenger134152mill/page/414/mode/1up vol. 34, page 414].

Thank you Traci, now for some revision. smiley

I usually link directly to the page similar to Traci's method. I enter a [, then the URL address, then a space and the title and author listed on archive.org and finish with a ].

Thanks, will give me an option for some of the other things I find there.

My preferred style is:

Obituary of David Bowersox, 27 June 1896, The Gospel Messenger, Vol. 34, p. 414. [https://archive.org/details/gospelmessenger134152mill/page/414/mode/1up Link to page at archive.org].

The reasons for the differences from the other examples are that I think that (1) the volume and page information are properly part of the citation, not the link, and (2) the text for the link should describe where it is taking you.

Thank you, that is a good point
