What was my maternal Grandmother’s maiden name?

My maternal grandmother’s married name was Roffey. She probably grew up in Mara Township in Ontario, Canada, then moved to a job in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where she met my maternal grandfather Charles (Chas.) Roffey, a watchmaker. Both then moved to Sudbury and opened a shop selling jewelry, china, silverware and watches. I believe it was on Elm Street until about 1957.

Ancestry’s Ontario marriage records only go to 1938. I suspect this is too early in include your grandmother. These records show two records with similar names: Charles James Roffey (Emma Anne Margaret Arbour, 1931) and Charles Frederick Roffey (Eva May Carroll, 1917).
Thank you George!

My grandmother was Eva. I’m named Adam ...

But it was Carroll I was looking for. and I didn’t know her middle name or my grandfather’s. He died fairly young. The year will be helpful too.

I’ll have to learn how to search this site — I’m brand new.

Thanks for you help.
