That's sad, especially having known older people in my family who have had these issues and I suppose been fortunate to have recovered from them. Something that seems so curable, and yet due to her underlying conditions, it took her out.

I went ahead and created an initial starter profile for her. With her birth date, she might be a bit of a challenge, but it will give researchers the opportunity to get started if someone has an interest in her.

I always thought she was a beautiful sexy woman on the screen and it's a shame that she left us so early.

I was reading her wikipedia entry where it said this about her death: "old age was a contributing factor"

On another note, her Wikipedia page says her mother had Jewish ancestry and her father was Irish. It seems odd. It was probably the other way around?

I've done some research and it's probably backwards.

Father's family was from Austria, so he was probably the Jewish side.

Mother was from England, so there's a possibility (unproven at the moment) that there's some Irish in her family's background.

It's different with different people, but I'll show how I figured this one out.

I started with what ethnicelebs.com stated they had found. I didn't take it for fact, so I tried to go to FamilySearch and prove out what they had proposed. I was able to find sources to back up everything they had stated. Depending on who posts things over there, sometimes they're spot on - other times, I've found errors in their assumptions. So far with her ethnicity, they're on the money as far as I can tell.

Thank you Scott for setting up her profile. Jillaine, I totally agree with you! She did not die of complications of 'old age'. Heck, I'm 10 years older that she was...what does that make me? A decrepit geezer?

Well, I've added most of the profiles I can for now, but have not found a connection as of yet. There's still a potential connection through her living sister, who was married at one time to psychologist Timothy Leary. I suspect that might be our most likely avenue to a connection than any other. I see a few others are working on his lines, and perhaps when Tim's profile is opened up (it's currently locked for editing), we can connect it to Tanya's sister and his parents and maybe everything will line up.

I was able to get Timothy Leary's profile opened up and connected Tanya's family to Timothy. Fortunately, several have been working on his family recently and it appears he's now connected to the tree, which means Tanya will be connected tonight when the links update.

Thanks, Chris! I guess since we have family for her now, we can use the public family to research and connect her, but I'm glad that she's still with us. Not sure how her live-in male partner somehow mistakenly thought she died, but I'm glad that's been clarified for him (and us).

That is unusual about her false death.

Just the other day, I was watching the finale of the tv show "Crime Scene Investigation" and at the end of the show they posted a memorial to her. I didn't recognize her name, so I googled her and it said that she died at 71 and that for many years she has been an assistant to the actor, who played supervisor, Gil Grissom, on the tv show.
