Posting images of Ancestry ThruLines?

I've seen some ancestor profiles with pictures of Ancestry ThruLines posted.  Since these are relevant to someone's personal line and not really generally to the ancestors, these don't seem appropriate to attach directly to an ancestors profile.

Am I right, and if so, what's the alternative?  Create a free-space page for your DNA matching and post images with links there?

i like the "Confirmed by DNA" functionality developed by WikiTree.  I consider ThruLines to be just hints.  Still, it is nice of people to share their hints as a direction for further research.

But if everyone did it, wouldn't it be a mess wouldn't it.  Each profile has potentially hundreds of different thruline comparisons. How do you decide which thrulines are valuable and which are not?
Hopefully the further research would take place (begging matches to use Chromosome browsers, comparing segments etc) and more profiles would be built and more 'Confirmed by DNA' badges would replace the ThruLines hints.  Personally, i wouldn't mind such attachments: they might help me find distant cousins who aren't shared matches to me but who do have DNA from our common ancestors, thus adding to the info for chromosome mapping.

Theoretically speaking, Thrulines are some times wrong. I've seen families where everyone has simply copied the wrong tree over and over and as a result, it looks like they all descend from the same couple--when indeed there were multiple marriages, etc. but no one actually did the research and confirmed with DNA. Ancestry makes that "save" button too easy. I would stay away from these images and work the DNA to prove it, then add the confirmation on WikiTree.

Please, please, stay away from posting Thru-lines here on WikiTree! As Shanna said, there are way too many mistakes in those. The Thrulines are created using DNA matches but go by what Ancestry members have in their trees. There are many errors. I have all but given up on sending messages to people to tell them that a particular ancestor is not correct because that person died a hundred years before the son or daughter was born; or, one of my favorites, the supposed ancestor couple lived hundreds of miles from where the next generation lived their entire life - and it is documented.

I use Thru-Lines just for suggestions where/who to research.  I wouldn't recommend using it as any kind of source.
