What's the correct location for this birth? Austria

Hello All, Working on AJ Jacobs' tree and one of his family members has Golnick, Austria listed on her naturalization record as the birth location. However, I don't see a location by this name. Any idea what it should be? Thanks!

There is a place which is Göllnitz (in German), or Gelnica (in Slovak?), or Gölnicbánya (in Hungarian?). During the Austria-Hungarian Empire was in Hungary, and today is in Slovakia.

The images of the records have a low resolution--am I right that they have traveled from the netherlands to America (Rotterdam / Zeeland)? What about the passenger list entries? Are there any?

Maybe "Golnick" is just a mistake for "Galicia", as in Max' naturalization record? That would fit into the "Rep. of Austria and/or Rep. of Poland" at the end of the record.

I think you have to search in the (todays) ukraine or poland region for them, not in (todays) Austria.

From a German friend: There is a town in Austria called Glödnitz, and the way it is pronounced it would be spelled by anyone speaking English as Golnick.

Glödnitz is in the Diocese of Gurk, in Carinthia, Austria.

I checked the birth records for Glödnitz, Diocese of Gurk, in Carinthia, Austria in matricula (Catholic parish records).

There is no Clara Dubester listed.

There are two possibilities:

She is Lutheran or Jewish or this is the wrong location.

I had a look on the other names of her family.

I think they were Jewish.

I believe she was Jewish since her son Irving is listed as Jewish
