It's difficult for anyone to help without a country and location and some timeframe of b,m, or d.
The "venue" is Chester Co., PA.  I have the history of the Hoopes family, but I cannot find any info. on the Wilson lineage prior to David.  There is info. online referencing dob's and dod's for both David Wilson & his wife Ann (Hoopes) Wilson, but no info. on David's family??

I realize this is an old post, but I just now came upon it while looking for more information about David H. Wilson. David is my 4X Great-Grandfather. I am a Wilson and I have a solid trace back to David on my Father's side of the family. Using Ancestry.com I found out David came from Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland and was the son of Deborah and Issac. I don't know what year he came to America, but he fought in the Revolutionary War (1775-1783) so he came from Scotland before or during the War. He married Ann Hoopes on November 11, 1808 and had several children with Ann. Later he fought in the war of 1812, which lasted until 1815. I'm still searching .......

I don't think this is the same "David."  My 3X Great-Grand did not "come" to America; he was born in Willistown, PA in 1775.  Also, he did not serve in the Amer. Revolution but there are several David Wilsons shown in DAR records.  The marriage date for David and Ann is correct, and I believe David died in 1820 and Ann, born in 1782, died in 1824.  They had four children; Ezra Hoopes, John Cope, Ann Otty and David.  I am descended from Ezra, and I have been in touch for several years w/another "cousin," a 3X Great-Grand of David who descends through his son, John.  She has checked many details on Ancestry, but we are both still baffled as to David's ancestry.  I found a doc online that would indicate that David rec'd a survivor's pension (Rev. War), which leads me to believe that his father may have served.  This has to be investigated through the govt. pension records, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet.  If you learn anything else, please let me know; I will do likewise.  (Haven't been on this site for a long time.  Will have to continue to check it out.  Regards,

In the 1920 US Census, David Wilson is 17y in Chester, PA. His father is C Colket Wilson 57y, mother is Emily R. A. 56y. David Wilson has an older sister and two older brothers.

Does this look like the right age for the David Wilson who married Ann Hoopes? If not, what year do you have for his birth and for his marriage to Ann Hoopes?
