Parents of Thomas Bingham, Bingham-181

Question

Other than the coincidence of the same name, Bingham-181 is extremely unlikely to be the son of Robert Bingham and Jane Williams. 

• Robert and Jane both came from well known landed families in Dorset, so it's unlikely that their son would end up as an apprentice
• Dorset and Sheffield are 240 miles apart, making this even more unlikely 
• No evidence has been put forward indicating that Thomas was the son of Robert and Jane

If no one can provide any evidence, I'll disconnect the parents and amend the biography.

The Relationship Finder has Bingham-181 as my 11th cousin, 14 times removed. It has Thomas Bingham's father as Robert Bingham born abt. 1507, died 1593. It has the grandfather with the same name, Robert Bingham.

That was my point; Robert is listed as the father and there is no evidence to support this, and based on the facts as presented it seems highly unlikely to be correct.

I am still wondering why the name Bingham suddenly appears; it is usually a reference to an earlier ancestor.
