Louis Hudler was born 1797 most likey in Craven County NC .   She married William Collins some time around 1819 and they resided in Salem, NC from 1837 to her death in 1885.  I can find no marriage record  or any record of her marriage to Wiliam Collins.  Her last name is Collins. I have confirmed 8 of 11 chidren all of whom lived in the Salem NC area.  One of her sons, David Collins who was born 1821 is my great x4 grandfather.  He died in Salem in 1862.  Louisa Hudler lived with her daughter Louisa East in Salem.  The famiy worked in the Salem Cotton Mill.

Do you have a question or questions?
Is the name Louis or perhaps Louise? I know different nationalities spell names differently. Thus the reason for the gender  drop down window. Now I understand why they have it there.
It's very confusing. I keep coming up with Catherine Louisa Matthews married to Aquilla Matthews. They have a daughter Louisa C. Matthews.who marries Samuel Clark,

Any of that sound familiar?

I don't know if this is Louise/Louisa, but I do know that many of my ancestors were often mis-spelled/named in hand written records.

I am trying to figure out if I posted this question....but I know I did not.  David Collins is also my 4th great grand father....he was a bricklayer and died falling from a scaffold in 1862 and was buried in the Liberty Cemetary.  I have the same questions you have about Louisa and William....could she be "vicey hudlar"  IDK...ck out Collins Family of Forsyth County on Ancestry.com  William is the mystery man...what happened to him?
