Is my tree aligned correctly?

Hello,. Would like for my family tree to be reviewed to ensure I have it aligned correctly.  Namely project Stewart-4165.

As I research the degree connection to other members researching the surname of Stewart, I find matches, but they always line up with the surname Thrasher.  This group of people married in to my Stewart line in 1811.

I can never find a connection directly with my Stewart line only.

My oldest known Stewart ancestor is my 3rd Great Grandfather Samuel Stewart born 1779 in Montgomery, Maryland.  I'm sure he would have had Aunt's, Uncle's, Siblings etc. that would connect him to other Stewart's.  Not unless he was adopted and last name was changed?

I appreciate any assistance you can give me.

Sincerely,

Margaret Stewart Mitchell

Hi, Margaret,

The connections are described here: Connection Finder.  This relates to the degrees for relationships in the WikiTree tree.  In short, your connections to the tree aren't through Stewarts but other names listed.

Your profile and tree are connected to the one-world tree, and the profiles for living members are private and not viewable.

Your tree aligns with others on WikiTree.

Stay safe!
