Chatham County Deed Books

I may be late to this party, but I wanted to put this on the record. Last night I stumbled across this site: https://chathamncdeeds.blogspot.com/2020/04/

It contains abstracts from ALL the Chatham County, North Carolina Deed Books - from A through N (I seems to be missing)

A treasure trove of information. I'm finding ancestors galore - even spouses of ancestors.

If you're researching in Chatham County, North Carolina, you definitely need to bookmark this site. I'll put some names in the Surname list, but it's a tiny portion of the names you'll find in there.

You can also search ALL Chatham County deeds online here: http://www.chathamncrod.org

This will have deeds up to 2020.

Hi, thank you for that link, I've got quite a few ancestors from that county.
I'm happy that one person was able to benefit from it.

THANK YOU, Paul, so very much for this link to the Chatham, NC, deed records. I have several bloodlines (Phillips, Brewer, Emerson, Duncan, West, Story, others) from this county 1700s/1800s.  It will be so much easier to locate their deeds via book and pages numbers on FamilySearch Family History Library microfilm. Chatham, NC, deed indexes/deeds are digitized and are not blocked, but the indexes usually are VERY time consuming to locate the correct deed bk/page to get to the correct film.  For those wishing to see the microfilm images on FamilySearch.org with Paul's Chatham Deed links  we can easily download the deed images and see all the details with hopefully family members as witnesses (Chatham, NC, Deed Indexes/Deed Books, FamilySearch Catalog: Land records, 1771-1902; indexes, 1771-1959 — FamilySearch.org. I think I located another family link, to the White family! THANKS, PAUL!!
