Searching for info on parents and ancestors of Jesse Davis, my 4th ggrandfather, born about 1767-1774 most likely in or near Cedar Creek Hundred, Sussex, Delaware. Died 1842 Fayette, Ohio burried in Yankeetown Cemetery. Re;Find a Grave dot com. Parents unknown.
Note; 1790 Delaware and other state's Census records and vital records were destroyed in wars.
Note; 1800 Census Cedar Creek Hundred, Sussex, Delaware - Jesse Davis - 5 Free negros and mulattoes, no other info given. These are not children of Jesse.There are also other Davis's in the same area Re; Sarah Davis. Ther are other Jesse Davis's in Maryland, PA, and other surrounding states but they were born at different times, married different women and had different children. I am currently unable to prove or disprove this is our Jesse.
Jesse Married RUTH ?Dawson? most likely in Delaware. Moved to Ross, Ohio between 1802 and 1815 when Sarah and Joseph were born.

3-Elizabeth Ramey (Davis) Kearney born about 1818 in Ross or Fayette, Ohio. She married Joseph Kearney 16 March 1835 in Pickaway, Ohio. She died 12 February 1887 in Ross, Ohio
4-Hester Ann (Davis) Williams estimated birth about 1821 in Ross or Fayette, Ohio. She married unknown Williams
5-Samuel Davis b abt 1824 Ross or Fayette, Ohio. d abt Feb 13 1863 Youngs Point, Madison, Louisiana. Married Mary Ann Fetty Nov 28 1841 Pickaway, Ohio. Samuel was in the Civil War - faught side by side with his son Harrison Davis, my 2nd ggrandfather who, luckily for us, survived the war.
