Hi! I'd love to see what you think of this writing - there's some missing words that I'm really struggling to get my head around:

Margaret Bastard Daughter to Jo? Stuart squarewright by Anne Stuart Doll? was baptised in presence of Donald Dason? Laindel? and Janet Stuart Dalaorog? as Sponsors by me Donald Carmichael Rom Cath Clergyman

Wow I think I only got half the words :)

Thanks so much for your help in advance. It might be hard going back from this record with 2 Stuarts not married... but let's see!

[edit : made some changes - thanks so much to Melanie and Jim]

Cheers,

Matt

Your "Hon Path" is Rom(an) Cath(olic) Clergyman -- and I think your "at goners" is actually "as Sponsors".

The Scotland's People glossary confirms square wright: carpenter, furniture maker.

Fabulous! So obvious now you've said it. Thank you Melanie
Oh that's fabulous - I hadn't seen that glossary before. Bookmarked for future use. There are other carpenters in the family so that rings true.
Agreed. I've book-marked it too. Thanks for sharing
Jo could be an abbreviation for John.  Dason might be an alternate spelling of Dawson.

Pretty sure the name after Dason starts with a C.  Caindel, Carndel?
Oh! I'd assumed Joseph but that's totally possible. Yes C I think you're right. Carndeland or something. It'll be a place I'm sure.
