My first name Kathryn my parents just thought of, it wasn't a family name. This irked my paternal grandmother so much that my middle name is her mother's maiden name, Garrett. I still don't get why they didn't use "Mary" or "Elizabeth" to give me a female middle name and avoid the initials "KGB" !

Nevertheless, I'm very proud of my name's history and I updated the profile of my namesake Garrett-10038

I couldn't find any notables on our project list with the name Emma, so I chose the first Emmaline at Wikitree I could find with no dates or locations (today is Date Night!). That happened to be Emmaline Ellison. I've added dates, locations sources, her second husband, and a list of children. I added dates to her first husband and improved her daughter's profile.

I love that you were looking for a "namesake".  A creative thought I didn't have until I read your answer.
Thanks, Kathy! I've been adopting people as my "family" since my own family profiles already get enough love. (not that they couldn't use some improvement) :-)

I chose Konrad  Keiner (1869-1875) and Konrad  Keiner (1869-1951) for this week. Both were born in the neighbor town of my ancestor's town. My connection to this town is via my 4xgreatgrandaunt, who married there.

I created the profile of the young one. But I had his father and corrected the location of his father's profile. I also added profiles for all of the siblings of the young Konrad.

The Konrad who grew adult already had his profile. I also already had the profile of his first wife and one child. Again, I corrected the location of Konrad's profile. I also connected him to the profile of his granduncle Wilhelm  Keiner (1806-1846) who already had a profile on WikiTree. Then I created a profile for his second wife Christine Elisabethe Henriette  (Zipp) Keiner (1872-1956) and could connect her with her greatgrandfather Georg Philipp Zipp (1780-1869) who had a profile. I created profiles for all of Konrad's children. I also created a profile for his son-in-law Heinrich  Schlegel (1895-1950). Him could I connect with his parents. So I also corrected the locations on the profiles of the parents of Heinrich Schlegel.

The "namesake" profile I chose this week is Charlene Louise (Hawkins) Crozier. Her parents, Charles and Laura Hawkins, decided that any daughters they had would be named after dad, and any sons would be named after mom. Their middle names would be named for the opposite parent.  Hence, Charlene for Charles, and Louise for Laura.

While I am not blood related to Charlene, I am privileged to be her namesake, in a way. She was born Charlene Hawkins, but I became Charlene Hawkins when I married her nephew.

I wrote about three generations of Elizabeths, and I updated the dates for my great-great grandmother's profile.

I share my first name, Mary, with at least 5 generations of maternal ancestors, all named Mary [Something]. As far as I know, none of us actually go/went by that first name.

I was going to write "in keeping with my orphaned profile theme" until I realized it was already the start of another wonderful WikiTreer's comment.

However, it is the case that I didn't have any great ideas this week and once again chose some orphaned profiles: Daniel F. Zwilling, his son Daniel Frederick Zwilling, and was able to find his son (already on WikiTree) Daniel "Zeke" Zwilling and connect him to his parents.  All three Daniel Zwillings had minimal sourcing and no biography other than the first two are direct ancestors of a guest on "Who Do You Think You Are?" They now all have biographies and sources and categories.

January 18: NAMESAKE: My middle name is actually Scott, just like my maternal grandfather, Virgil Scott Miller. I would like to know why he was given the middle name of Scott. So, I will work on his profile and maybe I will find out!
