I am 14 degrees from Johnny Cash through two marriage connections.

We are also 14th cousins, three times removed.  Nearest ancestor: John St.John Esq.

I am new and I don't understand degrees...but his first wife, Vivian Liberto Cash is/was my Aunt. Johnny was my uncle by marriage.  Roseanne Cash is my cousin.

Yes John Cash is my 9th Cousin. So might be that we are related to each. Mine is thru the Cash Overton, backwards to my father Ernest Ledger Stephens.

17 degrees from Johnny Cash, but also 12th cousins once removed on my father's side.  My father enjoyed playing some of his music on the guitar and would have enjoyed learning this.

Edited to add that with some newly found branches on the global tree, Johnny Cash is now my 7th cousin, twice removed, and 16 degrees from me.
