Hi Ken,

Do you have any profiles of individuals who arrived on this ship?

Hi Alan,

Do you know the date the ship arrived? Was it "16 March 1862" as listed in the profile?

Trove was not entirely in agreement...but mostly..

The Ship Shackamaxon, with her Government immigrants on board, was towed alongside the Government Railway Pier, Williamstown, yesterday morning. Her passengers were forwarded to Melbourne by special train.

Doesn't seem to be an easy one to find details for.

Category was created with place of arrival incorrectly shown as Adelaide, South Australia. The correct place of arrival (Hobson's Bay, Victoria) and correct parent category (Arrivals to Victoria) have been added.

Alan,

A piece of boring info that I noticed when reviewing the sources I had on the ship.

The notorious first voyage of Shakamaxon to Australia resulted in 64 deaths to Scarlet fever. If this was the voyage, then it's likely the ship was went into quarantine before being disembarked (therefore it may have arrived at Adelaide but been refused; then relocated to Victoria, etc.)

Ken, to add a voyage category can you add the link to the profile requiring the category. You can also add any Australian category requests to this Australia project page, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Categories_Waiting_to_be_Added_or_Renamed (I don't always see the requests on G2G but that page gets accessed every day)

Hi chaps,

Kind of fun when you're travelling country Australia while trying to respond to web based media. Then many days later have to find that profile again.

So apologies for the delayed response. Also sincere apologies for the dodgy source I gave you, didn't mean to cause any drama at all, but I see now I did.

My guy/girl [[Hutchans-1|Annie  (Hutchans) McTaggart (1842-1917)]]

Margaret; I have attached the link you provided me to her profile now.

Thank you too to Alan & E Logan for your response/support; always appreciated.
Ken, sorry I didn't explain it properly, that link is for a page where members can add requests for Australian categories to be created if they don't already exist, like your request in this post. I check that page every day but don't always see the requests on G2g for several days. The link doesn't serve any purpose added to a profile.
OK Margaret. I'm still trying to understand how that systems actually works. Thanks for the advice.
No problem, Ken, check out the page, and you'll see what other members have added. You add a request for a category to be created in Edit mode on the page. It's just an alternative to posting a request here in G2G.
