Is there a sticker for the Puritan Great Migration project?

For those profiles not managed by the PGM project and have a project box, a 931 error results (project box without project account). If there is a sticker for those profiles not being managed by the project, we can get rid of those errors. If there is a sticker, please advise where I might find it, or what I need to type in.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Raewyn.

Raewyn: I'm realizing that I haven't been seeing these errors on the PGM report, because only shows errors for profiles that are already managed by PGM.  I'll just need a report for those errors and PGM will review and take care of them.

If you're referring to the PGM Descendent Sticker, the following link where the template is.

Hi Brian,

That is something for a member to display on their profile, correct? Not on a profile created by a member, right? I'm talking about a sticker to replace the project box, like the one seen in this profile  (as an example).  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roote-48 because isn't managed by the project.

Thanks,

Raewyn.
Ahhhh... I see what your referring to... LOL!

That PGM Sticker may refer to the Project, but it doesn't indicate that it's a PPP nor overseen by the Project.

There's a separate sticker that's similar to that one with the additional PPP/Oversight text.

All those types of stickers has the reference to the Project, but only the ones that specifies its protected are so overseen by the project.

The {{Puritan Great Migration Adjunct}} sticker reflects the additional oversight as seen on the following WikiTree link.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Puritan_Great_Migration

So the profile you referred me to is good to go with the correct sticker.

I hope I had explained this okay via text... LOL!

Part of the problem, well maybe the major problem, is that people add the project box without realizing that it should be a sticker.  This problem happens on lots of projects.

Also, they changed the policy a while back that required the profiles with project box to be managed by project account.
Raewyn, Roote-48 has been fixed.  It now has the PGM project box as well as PGM management.

PGM project has a sticker {{Puritan Great Migration Beyond}}

by Linda Peterson G2G6 Pilot (764k points)

The above gives a red error.

I believe the correct template code is:

{{PGM Beyond|place=???}}  where the ??? is to be the place they went.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:PGM_Beyond

I just copied it from the project page.
That was the one I found first, but when I tested it the red error showed, so I went looking further.
They need to change it on PGM project page.  I sent a note to leaders about it, so it will probably get updated.

Am I reading the space page correctly? This sticker that was mentioned is for profiles of people who subsequently left New England after migrating to New England?

The profile I mentioned is in New England so I thought it would have had a sticker identifying that profile as part of the great Puritan Migration, or something to that effect - not that they had left New England as well.

I think what I'm seeing is that there is no actual sticker for profiles in the first group. Left the old country  - came to New England. I hope I'm being as clear as possible. I am aware I'm not part of the project, so maybe I'm missing a fundamental here.

I'm also trying to be clear because I received a water bill today that says don't pay it because I've already paid it three times and am wondering if I'm starting to lose my marbles :)

This is correct.  There is no sticker.  The PGM Beyond Sticker is for only those immigrants who left New England permanently.  And even that sticker is in addition to project management.  Because the scope of PGM is pretty defined, immigrants who came between 1620-1640ish, the project manages all profiles that qualify.  At least for now, that means if there's no sticker that replaces the box/project management like you might do for other projects.  We need to review the profile, see if it belongs and then either add Project Management or remove the project box.
Linda and Melanie,

Thank you for your perusal of the PGM project page.  I'll review it also, and clarify if needed.

If the profile is for an immigrant to New England who can be shown to have arrived by 1640 (and probably is listed in Anderson's Great Migration Directory), it should have the Project box and project management. There is no sticker unless the person arrived as above, and then left New England and then they are a "Beyonder." In the latter case, they would still be handled with a project box and project management.

If you'd like to specify the profile, I can check the Directory.

I checked several of the 71 Suggestions with that project box.  Some people have incorrectly added the project box when the person is not listed in the Directory (some never left England, some went to Virginia) and some are valid, so the Project needs to add the account to some of the profiles.
Hello all,

I'll be doing a review of this question.  Thank you for your patience.

Thanks Bobbie, you surely have a good understanding of how the project works.  Thank you for your explanation.

Thank you, Raewyn, for bringing this to the attention of the Puritan Great Migration project (PGM), giving us the opportunity to clarify the way we operate.

Thanks also to M. Cole, a member of the PGM googlegroup crew, for her diligence in working with PGM data base errors.

As M. Cole says, up to this point we haven't been noticing the errors where there is a project box but not project management because our PGM report presently shows only errors to profiles that have PGM management.  Going forward we'll find a way to review those inconsistencies and they will be corrected.

Please also note M. Cole's comment below regarding stickers.  PGM has a sticker for the sub-project PGM Beyond New England.  That sticker is specifically for those who migrated between 1620-1640 and then left New England to live elsewhere. Those profiles also have PGM project box and PGM management.

All of the others who migrated to New England in this time period have only PGM project box and management, no sticker.  This, of course is with the exception of those who came in 1620 on the Mayflower, they have their own project.

Thank you, Raewyn.

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your response and explaining the timeframe and between you and Bobbi, the parameters of inclusion for such profiles.

My head's a bit fuzzy (migraine), so excuse me if I misread something, but if you click on this link and then click "Find Suggestions" - it should bring up the 931 error specific to this.

https://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm?report=err6&Query=Puritan+Great+Migration+&MaxErrors=1000&ErrorID=931

Thanks again to everyone who has posted on this. I'm going through a few things. This is just one project that I'm looking at and hoping to figure out if I'm missing something, or the sticker was never implemented. Clearly this is one where you do want project management for eligible profiles and I think that's fantastic!
