Recently have been unable to use the very helpful FamilySearch match because the login to Wikitree doesn’t work. It worked well in the past

Hello Steven,

I also use the FamilySearch match from under "Find" heading top right. I use Chrome browser and this FamilySearch match was not functioning for some months. The tech guys fixed it by opening a new window which says API: clientLogin which needs your Wikitree email and login. If this new window is not able to pop up due to a security setting on your computer then I can only suggest that you check Adblock or that little lock left of page address and fiddle until the new window is allowed.

I am happily using FamilySearch match at this moment to check through all my entries to see if FamilySearch knows more than me about someone on my watchlist. 81 pages!

Regards

Graeme

I rebooted my iPad and found that the Find FamilySearch  facility now works, so the techies must have fixed the problem as you said Graeme

It is working for me, but not quite like it used to. Here is what I do....

After I click on "RootsSearch for xxxx"....On the first page I put my email address and WikiTree password (not my WikiTree ID.) On the second page, I put the WikiTree ID of the profile I am searching (not my own WikiTree ID.) Then I am given the option of which site I want to access, among them are FamilySearch. I click that button and I am taken to FamilySearch's results.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I use the Chrome browser on my laptop

Thank you Nelda.

I can still use RootsSearch.

I was referring to FamilySearch match, which is under the Find tab top R hand of page

Clicking into that tab takes you to a page with  Wikitree login in the L and a FamilySearch login on the R

It requires one to log in to FamilySearch and then to Wikitree one after the other . I can log into FamilySearch but the Wikitree login fails, despite the fact that I can log into Wikitree after logging out of it

Regards

Sorry to have confused the two features, Steve. I actually don't think I've ever used the other feature.

You can always just open a new tab and type familysearch.org as the URL and search for RECORDS and type in the data you want.  You don't have to go through Wikitree (although it is easier).
