John Tefft and Mary Reynolds

+2 votes

John Tefft, according to his profile, had three wives. Two of them were named Mary Reynolds.

One of the John and Mary marriages was in 1721, the other has no date.

There are two different death dates for the Mary’s, 1752 and after 1773.

Mary who died after 1773, apparently married in 1758 Joseph Bundy, before the death of husband John Tefft (in 1766).

There are children for John and both Mary’s (11 for one marriage, and 1 for the other). The single child fits in a gap of the eleven.

My suspicions:

  • The two Mary’s are possibly the same person, or
  • The two Mary’s have been conflated and the death dates belong to different people
  • All the children(all have same surname) are of one couple
  • John Bundy is of a different family

The sources are, at best, incomplete. Unfortunately I do not have access to all of them to verify the key data. Thus I am hesitant to make any changes, or propose a merge of the Mary Reynolds.

Does anyone have familiarity with this family, or insights on what is correct.
