Brick wall Moore family Kentucky/Virginia

I'm having trouble tracing earlier members of my family tree. I'm trying to find out when my ancestors came to the United States, but the earlier census data lists only the head of household, so it's hard for me to tell if I'm looking at the right person.

This is my family tree:

I get as far as Isaac Moore Jr. (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Moore-29234), but then I'm stuck.

Isaac's father is Isaac Moore Sr.
abt 1789 - 18 Jul 1876
Russell Co. Virginia, United States

However, it looks like there might be two Isaac Moores that can be merged. I've requested a merge, so maybe I'll hear something on that.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Moore-29235 Isaac Moore Sr. (abt. 1789 - 1876)

While I'm waiting to find out more about that, I looked at the next Moore up, Enoch Moore, born about 22 May 1753 in Russell, Virginia (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Moore-15690)

I connected him to John Peter Moore because it seemed to be the right date, but I'm not sure. I can't remember why I decided he was correct, and unfortunately I didn't note that.

Can anyone help me with the Moore family from Kentucky/Virginia pre-1800? I didn't even realize this when I started out, but Kentucky was originally part of Virginia, splitting away on June 1, 1792. Are there family histories that might help me?

The best way to work out whether they are duplicates, or indeed, where they fit in the tree is to show the sources!

Ah, yes! Sorry. I've been collecting data, but forgot to enter it here. Will work on that today. Thank you for the reminder.

You have my sympathy.  I have two Moore brickwalls in my own tree including another Isaac Moore born in Virginia about the same time as the ones you mention.  Common names are the bane of genealogy for me.

Since you are a Moore, you might want to consider getting a Y-DNA test for a Moore male relative.  It might help figure out which Moore line you should be aiming for.  Additional info here:  https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/moore-worldwide/about/background
