How does one add someone who is already on the Trusted List as a Profile Manager? [closed]

Question

I am already on the Trusted List for the attached profile, but would like to be a Profile Manager so that relatives can easily contact me (profile is my 4th-great-grandfather.)

I asked the current Profile Manager, and she tried to add me with my email, but received the reply "You are not on the Trusted List of that user, so you may not add/remove them as manager on profiles."

The process for adding another Trusted List member as a Profile Manager is not well explained either on the Privacy Page, or on the Help page about Profile Managers. I assumed you have to use the Bulk Profile Manager Changes tool, as that's the only option available in that section, so I tried to step through the process on another profile, and got to the same message. What are we missing?

Not exactly sure what she did. That's the one I stepped through on a different profile, just to see what it did.

When looking at who is on the Trusted List, the profile manager should see a "[Add as Manager]" link.
