The will of John Parse [Parse-14], proved on May 20, 1667, can be read on his profile. John and William Grinstead are mentioned in the will. They are the sons of the immigrant William Grinstead [Grinstead-58] and Elizabeth Key [Key-41]. After her husband's death Elizabeth married John Parse.
In the will John Parse refers to his daughter 4 times as Elizabeth Parse. In WikiTree John Parse is alleged to be the father of "Elizabeth (Grinstead) Booth" [Grinstead-468]. She is also said to be the daughter of William Grinstead. She cannot be both. No evidence of a marriage with George Booth is provided.
Neither the 1708 will nor the 1698 will mentioned in the "Sources" section of the profile of "Elizabeth Booth formerly Grinstead aka Parse, Pierce" (Grinstead-468) say anything about Elizabeth's maiden name or about who her parents were. No evidence has been provided that connects Elizabeth, relict of George Booth, with either John Parse [Parse-14] or Elizabeth (Key) Grinstead [Key-41]. I propose to disconnect Grinstead-468 from Parse-14 and Key-41.
John Parse's will makes it clear that he had a daughter Eliza. Apart from that mention of her in the will we know nothing about her, but I propose to add her as a child of John Parse. Her mother might be Elizabeth (Key) Grinstead, or it may be that John Parse was a widower when he married Elizabeth (Key) Grinstead and that Eliza was a daughter of the first wife.
Does anyone have any evidence concerning the life of Eliza Parse?
