Do you know in which part of Galizia he was born? That is important for the archives you have to search in.

Galicia is a historical landscape in western Ukraine and southern Poland.

The territory came to the Austrian House of Habsburg in 1772 as part of the first partition of Poland as the Crown Land Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, and became part of the Empire of Austria in 1804. From 1867 to 1918 it was crown land in the Cisleithanian (Austrian) part of Austria-Hungary.

The territory of Galicia (in the borders of the Crown land in 1914) covered 78,502 km² and today covers:

  • in Poland
    • Silesian Voivodeship (only Powiate Żywiec and Bielsko-Biała, Jaworzno)
    •  Lesser Poland Voivodeship (except Powiate Miechów, Olkusz)
    • Voivodeship Carpathian Foothills
  • in Ukraine
    • Lviv oblast (Lviv)
    • Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (Stanislav)
    • Ternopil Oblast (Tarnopol)
And if you know if he was Lutheran or Catholic.
Lutheran records you may find her:

It is my understanding he was born in Mierzwica, Zolkiew,Galizien, Osterreich.  They were roman Catholic.

I also have been told he married Mary on Jan 28, 1902.

Marriage took place at Wiesenberg, Zolkiew, Galizien, Osterreich.  Thankyou for what you have given already.
First step, I found the village Wiesenberg. And now I know why in the source David uploaded here, Lemberg was mentioned:

Wiesenberg was a village inhabited by German farmers and craftsmen in Eastern Galicia, about 20 km north of Lemberg and 3 km from the small town of Kulików. Adjacent to Wiesenberg was the Ukrainian village of Merwitschi (Polish: Mierzwica). The main town of the county was Żółkiew (after 1945 Żółkiew was called Nesterow, since 1990 Zovkva). The area around Lviv was part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy from 1772 to 1918 as the "Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria", belonged to Poland until 1939, then to the Soviet Union, and since 1990 to Ukraine. Today Lemberg is called Lviv.

And Wiesenberg and Mierzwica are the same locations.
