There was only ONE Livingston in Edgefield County South Carolina in the 1830 census and he lists a daughter the right age

Daniel Livingston born about 1780 in Newberry County SC, died 1859 in Edgefield.

There is a find a grave but it does not list all of his 9 children. His wife was Karen Happuch Smith, daughter of Matthew Smith and Karen Happuch

Daniel was the son of Johann Lowenstein who became LIVINGSTON during the Revolutionary War, as several of his brothers were Loyalists to England and had death warrants issued by Governor Rutledge (Loyalists in the Southern Campaign of the Revolutionary War vol 1)

John was born 1733 Lancaster PA the son of Johannes Bernard Lowenstein. He married Anna Sligh/Schleich, born about 1749,the daughter of Hans Ulrich Schleich.

Thank you for this. I'll certainly give him a look. I do wonder about the maiden name for Matthew Smith's wife. Karenhappuch/Kerenhappock (and other variants) is a name from the Bible (Book of Job -- one of Job's three daughters, which also include Keziah and Jemima). I've encountered all three of these names amongst the daughters of other ancestors.
Alas, a quick perusal of his will, which mentions all of his nine children, reveals that "Doretha/Dolly" was not among them. But, thank you so much for the suggestion -- he was certainly worth a look.
She may have predeceased him but suit yourself.  There were no birth or marriage records kept in any court/government office in this area and era. Births, marriages et al were generally recorded in a family Bible and the Bible pages witnessed by the circuit preacher when he came around. When there were enough people in a particular area to found a church, records might be kept there by the minister, if he could read and write. Few could.
Thank you, Eddie. She's still alive in 1860, according to census records. Daniel's will dates from 1859. Another source has indicated she had a child in 1861.

The ship Falls returned to Charleston on March 7, 1766 with passengers, entering from Londonderry. Some of her passengers were indentured servants. Passengers on a ship sailing from Londonderry would be drawn from that port's hinterland in Cos. Donegal, Tyrone, and Londonderry.

The Belfast Pacquet arrived from Belfast October 15, 1766 "with between eighty and ninety Irish settlers," all in good health. (South Carolina Gazette, October 20, 1766.)

Thank you for this, Clare. DNA evidence is leading me toward Martin Luther Livingston/Levingston Jr. as her grandfather, and possibly Mark Peter Livingston/Levingston as her father, both related to the Loewensteins who moved to SC from PA.
