Thank you for doing the requested and going beyond!
Hello

My gr grandfather, Joseph Hunt and his sister's brother & sister-in law, Thomas Lay his wife and sister Adeliza Lay, came to Melbourne on the Aberfoyle, arriving Dec. 1854.  I would like to connect with other descendants of people who arrived on the Aberfoyle to try and work out the type of vessel and comments on the journey.  As all passengers appear to be unassisted I would like to know who paid for their voyage.  With thanks, R.Hunt

My ancestor, Joseph Hunt, also immigrated on the Aberfoyle arriving in December 1854, and I have just noted the Blachford family of 7 (including 5 young children) on the shipping list.  It was a three mastered sailing ship of which I have a photo.

I would be interested in discussing the Aberfoyle with you as I believe it was supported by the Eureka Agitation Movement.  I know my gr grandfather would not have had the money to pay all his own fare, so I'm wondering who paid the fares or what scheme they arrived here under.  Did the Blachford family go to the goldfields?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sorry Rae, I don't have anything to do with these people or the boat, as I  was simply trying to have an incorrect Category replaced with a correct one.
The Blachford family are on my tree as well. but rather remotely.
