According to the 1880 United States Census, Lizzie Rivers was 7 years old. Her father, Alex Rivers, was 40, and her mother, Edith, was 30. At that time, Lizzie had 3 brothers, 4 sisters and a nephew, John Rivers, living in the same dwelling in Tanners, Washington, GA. .

Frank, Thanks for the answer. I have looked at that census in the past, the dates matche up pretty well, the location a bit off, but my my true concern is this lists their race a african americans, She shows up in the 1910 census as Lizzie Russell, in Enterprise, Clarke, MS. This shows her as "White" and widowed.I was under the impression she may have been Native American, and I realize some Native AMericans called themselves "Black Dutch" to keep from having to go to a reservation?? All subsequent chilren were "white".
