Due to Gedcom download by unknown person , or Ann Stanley, it seems wrong info is added.

Question

MahalaSmith, my gr gr grandmother has wrong info due to Gedcom downloaded by AnnStanley. I found some written notes showing that Mahala Smith father was Henry Smith and mother was Temperance .  30543.  When I started editing noticed her father is Cattlet  Smith.  Looked on his children list and see Mahala Smith 30550. Check her profile see she married John Early Burcham and his find a grave .

 This is not my Mahala Smith. I have been busy trying to find Henry and Temperance Smith.  I did. They were from Northampton NC later moving to Tattnsll Co Ga where Mahala was born 1821 and married my Grandfather Elephalant F Sharpe.  How do we get this error corrected?  Am I wrong.  Thank you.

Bessie, the profile you found is not necessarily wrong.  It sounds like it is most likely for a different person who is also named Mahala Smith.

Gaile thank you for your answer.  When I made entry  for Mahala all information showed up for Mother, Father, Siblings , etc.  Also  info saying profile was result of Gedcom.  How  an I get rid of this information which is not mine.  What about other people who are seeing this info that doesn't pertain to our ancestor?  When I change mine everyone else who is merged into mine will be wiped out.  What to do to get this straight?

Bessie, you made me look!!!  I just checked the profile, along with others of interest and it appears that the two different people named Mahala Smith were both connected to the same father.

From what you say, "your" Mahala Smith has different parents.  I believe I found her parents already on WikiTree.  Please look at Temperance (Guilford) Smith and Henry Smith.  If these are the correct parents, then go to the edit page for "your" Mahala Smith and click the link on the right side of the page to [replace/remove father], enter Smith-148059 for the new father's ID.  You can then do the same to replace her mother with Guilford-212.
