i dont have a gedcom program on my pc. ive just been adding names to this site???

I, like many WikiTreers, didn't have a gedcom either and have been adding profiles individually, just like you are. You can just keep doing what you have been doing - and have fun exploring your ancestors!

I agree with Vincent. I did both at first and can say from personal experience it is actually more work to upload a GEDCOM here than it is to manually input the data.

Completely AGREE!
I don't subscribe to Ancestry, so they won't let me download my GEDCOM, but I found a similar GEDCOM file to start with and figured it would be a good way to get the ball rolling. Big mistake. I created duplicate entries that I've spent time cleaning up since then and now have ownership of profiles that I now need to research since I was not the original researcher.
It's best to work with the profiles you are most familiar with and allow the building of your tree to flow naturally.
