Walker connection in PA to the Carr's specifically to a Joseph Carr 1790-1867

My given name is Carr and has been for the last 200+ years. Now my dna comes up with 7 Walkers and no Carrs! May have common ancestor within 4 generations (72%) and 95% within 8 generations. Most likely a Walker child raised as a Carr due to death of parents or some fooling around!

Any help would be appreciated.

This is very interesting to me.  I hope we find the answers!
Thanks Robert! I hope I find the answers too! I feel it has to be either my 3rdggrandfather or my 4th.
I think we may be related through my maternal grandmother a Walker from the Path Valley area of Metal Township, Franklin County, PA, USA(~1750-1900).  We share some autosomal DNA.  If your ySearch ID is 9SNDZ then 72JHQ (Thrasher) and 227PZ (Walker) are your closest matches in ySearch.  None of ySearch Carr's appear to be closely related. You might try looking for specific chromosome segment matches with individuals with your suspected paternal lineage.  I believe 227PZ (ySearch)'s most distant paternal ancestor is also my grandmother's (noted above.).  If interested email me and I will sent you my grandmother's Walkers Family Tree. My current WikiTree does not go beyond my garndmother. You might consider testing for your terminal SNP and or upgrade your DYS to 111. Both of which should improve your chances of eliminating false positives.

Hi,

my Walkers immigrated from Gurtnellen, Uri, Switzerland around 1880 and settled in Osage County. The matriarch had a brother already in the area.

so, not all Walkers are connected...to answer someone else's question. Mine are not English but German speaking Swiss. "Walker" may be a derivative of a German spelling or of Walser. Not sure.
