Help with finding doucette

I have tested with ancetry, 23andMe and most recently FTDNA Y-37. I thought my paternal line was Cote to which I traced back to Jean Coste Cote of Quebec by way of Peche France in 1600s. My 23andMe predicted halpogroup was different than other Cotes here on wiki tree, ancestrydna also lists maritime Acadians as my communities so I did FTDNA to confirm. Ftdna confirmed I was in fact halpgroup C (still waiting on confirmation for the C-P39 SNP test) but, matched with all doucettes/doucets on ftdna. I believe now that either my paternal grandfather was fathered by a Doucette(Henry Cote)  (instead of his mother’s (Louise Elizabeth Mendes)husband Cote)) or my paternal great grandfather (Ernest Peter Cote) was fathered by a Doucette (instead of his mother’s (Jennie “McCue” marcouiller) husband (Frederick Ernest cote)) . I also believe it to be possible that the doucette’s mother’s name was muise as I have close to ten predicted 4th cousins with the name muise. Both generations where I think the Doucette father appeared lived in Attleboro, MA on Main Street or Bellemore St and worked in some fashion in the jewelers business. If anyone could help or let me know if you find evidence of these inferences In your studies that would be appreciated.

Hi Anthony!

I have a couple of suggestions for you.

First, your tags should all be separate; when you connect them with underscores they combine to form one tag and no one will see it. You get six tags in total which can be surnames, locations, or projects. For your tags on this question I would put: cote doucette massachussetts quebec dna research_assistance

Secondly, while it is fantastic that you have entered as much of your paternal line as you can, it all appears unsourced. Anyone who wishes to help you out would easily and quickly become overwhelmed as none of your research is on any of the profiles.

Thirdly, when you ask a question on G2G, there is a field where you can enter a Wiki ID. I would suggest entering your grandfather or great grandfather's ID, which would help people quickly find the profile you need help with.

I hope this helps! Good luck with your research.
