I am trying to get back another generation from John Hughes (Hughes-22309) married to Margaret Fleming (Flemming-831). They were both Irish immigrants that settled in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The best clue I have as to where they might have been from in Ireland is that their oldest son, Patrick Hughes, was born in Ireland in 1839. According to the death records of Patrick's son Daniel Hughes, Patrick was born in Queens County (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_Laois).
"Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947," database, FamilySearch (
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N34C-55W : 10 March 2018), Daniel Hughes, 05 Nov 1931; Public Board of Health, Archives, Springfield; FHL microfilm 1,893,160.
There are also a couple of DNA matches I've found that I think are related. One has a Fleming from Kilkenny, Ireland. And another has a Fleming from Queens County:
James Fleming, born 1832-1835 Laois (Queens County), Ireland, death 15 Jun 1902 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
One more thing that should be a clue, but I haven't been able to get anywhere with it - is that in the 1850 census also living with them in Lawrence were Nicholas Fleming age 37, Briget Fleming age 11 and James Fleming age 9 (refs are in their profiles).
Any thoughts or clues would be appreciated. If there is any more info that would be helpful let me know, Thanks!
