The link to the Orange county wedding bonds page that Marion Poole linked has a couple of other nuggets.
Nelson Parker marries Massy Madden 10 April 1851. The 1850 Orange County census has Samuel Madden age 73, a presumed wife Betsey, age 75, and a daughter named Massy, age 30.
Next door to Samuel Madden on the census is William Parker, age 38, farming. In that household, there is Martha age 40 (wife?), the children are John age 12, Ann age 10, Samuel age 8, George, age 3 and a Nelson Parker, age 30. This points, IMO, to the marriage of Nelson to Massy is correct.
Messersmith is an odd name, and I could only find one person in the county. In 1779 there is a Stephen Messersmith. I couldn't find anything more about him.
One last little find: In that Orange County Marriage Book, there is a notation for Samuel M. Parker with the notation "Son of William and Martha Parker" and the wife's name is Mary J. Taylor "daughter of Henderson and Elizabeth Taylor. Married 31 Jan 1968.
Hopefully these point you in new directions.
