It could be spelled Carey, but I've seen it both ways.  He had a son named Richard Cary Etheridge in b. 1859 and he had son named Norman Cary Etheridge who had a son named Norman Cary Etheridge Jr (my father) and then me, Cary G Etheridge.

I've been stumped for several years and can't get past Cary.  The census records kind of point to Caleb Etheridge with a brother named Jefferson, but no sure.

Welcome to WikiTree, Cary. You have come to what I think is the best place on the internet to work together to form one large tree. Be sure to let your Greeter know if you have any questions about how to upgrade.

I'm going to add a couple of Tags to your post to get the attention of others who are interested in the Car(e)ys from North Carolina.

I look forward to seeing your twig grow within the branches of WikiTree.
