Invalid Character errors

I am unable to use the letter ø, in the BMD fields even when I use the location suggestions that include the letter. This has not been a problem in the past.

You are right. This has not been so in the past.

It happens with Swedish locations as well.

And here I  have been doggedly correcting Ostergotland to Östergötland and Amal to Åmål and so on, for years.

It only happened this afternoon.  Must be a new tech rule.  I'm sure it will get sorted soon.  Enough people are complaining! :)

Looks like it doesn't approve of any diacritics at all.
